Pyit Tine Htaung

The Spirit of Resilience

Roly Poly Toy

Pyit Tine Htaung is a traditional Myanmar roly-poly toy that always stands back up no matter how many times it is tossed down. For generations, it has symbolized resilience, perseverance, and determination, a reminder that even when life knocks us over, we can rise again with strength and grace. This is the story of our students and the movement that keeps their hope alive.

Why We Rise

Across Myanmar, an entire generation of young people is being left behind. According to a report published by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on the Myanmar youth in October 2025, three in four youth aged 18–24 are no longer in school or training, as conflict and economic hardship shut down classrooms and futures. Yet even in darkness, many refuse to stop learning. They study through power cuts, navigate unstable internet connections, and keep showing up for their communities with courage and determination. At Parami University, Pyit Tine Htaung is more than a symbol, it’s a way of life. Our students live this spirit every day as they study through blackouts, displacement, and uncertainty. Their determination to keep learning, serving, and leading embodies the very meaning of Pyit Tine Htaung.

Even when the lights go out, our students keep learning. Because rising again is who we are.

Join the Rise

The Pyit Tine Htaung Campaign celebrates and sustains that spirit. When you give to the Pyit Tine Htaung Campaign, you’re investing in the hopes and dreams of young people across Myanmar, who continue to learn, lead, and give back despite every obstacle. Through this campaign, Parami University provides scholarships, safe residential support, and online classrooms that keep higher education within reach. When students continue their studies, they strengthen their communities, mentor others, and help rebuild the future of Myanmar. Your support turns resilience into leadership, and hope into measurable change.
